Best brand for home theater speakers?

Best brand for home theater speakers?

Hello!
so i was wondering nearly for weeks now, looking to find the best solution out there for my speaker system. i went all the way from Sony and Samsung, to Bose, Infinity, Yamaha, Boston Acoustics, JBL, Best Technology, and now i also establish out in this area Mirage. and i really want to make a choice not based on brand name, but very the type of signal that will take my breath away. i’m shopping nearly $ 1000 for a set. i’m a huge fan of bass, and bracing high signal. from my investigate, Bose are incredible, but 80% of their price is the name. so i’m trying to the the most for the cash (that’s when i establish out in this area Mirage)… so i turn it to the experts – what is really the best out there? any other names i must consider? thanks!
I have researched all the mentioned advices – THANK YOU ALL! it’s a bit hard finding all the ones here in local supplies so i hope i will be ok. what makes me curious, is how vital the amp is. any advices and suggestions? (btw, i will be listening to music with it, as well)

For the $ 1000: set of 5.1 speakers: you’ll get some very clad quality/ splendid sounding speakers.
I’d look at klipsch allusion series speakers, Kef and yes, Mirage speakers are very clad too. Model speakers also have sets that will verify splendid signal can come at a clad price.

Here’s another brand that is reasonably new, which I highly urge: Audioengine. Specifically, their Ap4 develop… Which is sold in pairs: $ 250 each. They also sell a splendid sub for $ 350… Check out some of the reviews… And eyeglasses: Kevlar woofers, dedicated silk dome tweeters and thick MDF front vented cabinets.
I personally have their powered monitor series: A2 and it has the same type of woofers/top… And I can confirm that they are awe-inspiring for their price: trumping on speakers 2x their cost. They sdo offer a 30day trial…
A few pairs of the ap4 and their sub is well within your price range: the only business is that you’ll have to get a centre channel speaker: Whig audioengine does not make yet…

Hope this helps!

Mombo,

I want to thank you for this moment. In this moment you have agreed me $ 1000 and questioned how best to spend it on home theatre speakers. For the next few minutes I will make a case and argue my spend and in my mind I am aptly. lol. Since you are taking the aptly step by auditioning what you are considering purchasing, you have a fine opportunity here. If you are anywhere near a high end pile that sales Krell, McIntosh or Magneplanar even Pioneer take note to them. They seal the room off, its dimly lit and its a sonic and visual experience you will dredge up being shortly. Now that is incredible when you take note to B&W or some stratospheric brand whose price is in deep interval. So take note to incredible beyond what you can afford soon. Really.
Then when you step out of the room, you will have a better perspective and appreciation for what you can afford. I judge JBL Professional Series is the best Home Theatre Speakers for the cash, based on all the speakers listed. http://www.jblpro.com/index.html
If you have gone to the Show Theaters at the beginning you hear this high low parallel signal with a bold glowing THX signal, chances are you are listening to JBL professional series. JBL Professional Series are best in class and can be had at an affordable price. I would promote you to take note to JBL speakers since they are best with movies, but they are more musical than Bose. The best solution is JBL.

Best.

You seem to be interested in a “sub and satellite” system. There are several excellent choices (and Bose is NOT one of them). I’d add KEF, Polk and Fluance to your list. See the link for CNet’s recommendations. The Fluance system (bottom of the page) is a splendid deal for the price.

BTW, Mirage is owned by Klipsch … and both are highly recommended brands.

Note that you can use any powered sub with most speakers, bass is a high priority and you only have a $ 1000 budget I’d suggest deciding on the sub first (The following link suggests some in your price range), the center speaker following (critical to HT audio. See 3rd link), the front left and rights next and the surrounds last. Ideally you want to “timbre match”, but agreed your preferences/price constraints I’d suggest different brands (at smallest amount for the surrounds) wouldn’t be a conundrum. A reasonable approach might be to consider the recommendations for center and main speakers and try to stick with the same brand.

As an different note that you may be able to get a deal locally on the whole complex … and since really listening to the system with your program material is highly recommended if you can find a pile that sells a range of speakers and is prepared to work with you this may be the best approach.

Pleased hunting.

jbl have very bracing highs, but bass lacks alittle on the cheaper ones but with a excellent sub you’ll never notice, i’m still by my 35 year ancient jbls as my rears and the whole system is jbl,

“..i really want to make a choice not based on brand name, but very the type of signal”

Terrible and excellent.

Terrible – Names do matter. I strongly suggest you only look at speakers by companies that make speakers as their main business. I like Yamaha receivers and Sony televisions, but I would never buy their speakers.

Bose – have been establish to have in this area $ 5,000 worth of amps and parametric equalizers hooked to their speakers behind the scenes to make that impressive signal. (At a demo a supporter was escorted out of a Bose Road Show when he looked behind the panels and establish this gear.)

Excellent – take your breath away.

Look – some basic in rank:

* Speakers have ‘flavor’. Just since a name gushes in this area their Brand X speakers it does NOT mean the speakers are excellent or terrible. It just means it tastes excellent to them. (And he may be a name who likes Butter Brickle flavored ice cream. Ugg) If you like Mirage, buy them and dont care what a name else prefers.

* “Music is in this area Accuracy. Home theater is in this area Impact.”

We have establish many times that properly complex a less-pricey $ 500 set of speakers really give a excellent show experience. You do NOT need highly accurate music speakers for movies.

What does impress: a excellent subwoofer.

You do NOT need to buy a sub from the same companionship as the other speakers. Well-known subwoofers like Earthquake, Velodyne, SVS, HSU, etc sold for being without the companies donation any other type of speaker.

Look into brands like SVS Woofers and HSU Investigate for their subwoofers. Or to save cash buy a subwoofer kit and assemble it yourself. Kits from www.partsexpress.com are reasonably excellent and you save a lot of cash.

One more companionship to take note to: Model. I have sent co-workers to audition these, and they wind up buying the system that day since they signal so excellent.

Excellent Luck.
